Hi my name is Lucy and I have owned my horse “Puzzle” for 9 years. He is your typical trotter but after 9 years we are slowly turning him into a dressage diva. I joined the riding club having no confidence at all, well that has certainly changed. The rallies and instructors are brilliant for gaining confidence and making new friends.

Jill McFarland

Club role: Secretary

Hi, I joined the Riding Club Committee after enjoying being a member for a few years and feeling like I should give something back. My horse is the fabulous Basil. A little coloured Irish horse with the most perfect temperament - friendly, keen but very rarely silly. Despite his (and my) lack of natural talent we are true allrounders and will have a go at anything but our real love is cross country. Keeping Basil company is my daughter’s outgrown Welsh pony who we enjoy doing a little driving with.

Sally Thorne

Club role: Treasurer

E Mail:

Hi, I am Sally and have just joined the committee as Treasurer. I have been a member of BDRC since 2015 and have owned the wonderful Miss Mouse since late 2013. Representing the Senior age bracket, I have thrown myself into as much club activity as I can (while I still can!) and have had so much fun and made many friends along the way. BDRC is a warm, welcoming club and I hope to add to that whilst keeping the books in order.

Shanice Walton

Club Role - Membership Secretary

Hi, I'm Shanice, and have been a member of  BDRC for 4 years. I have now joined the committee after thoroughly enjoying being part of the club. I have owned Verni for 7 years and we regularly compete in several teams throughout the year, also taking part in camp and rallies too! Whilst being on the committee I will be looking after the membership as well as organising camp, so make sure you all send me your helping hours

Jo Dyer

Team Manager

My name is Jo, I joined the riding club at the end of 2014 to get back into competing after having my third child and joined the committee last year. Horses have always been a big part of my life, I've been lucky enough to breed and compete many Homebred's. One of which is my beloved Rosie that I'm currently competing BE novice/ CIC * . I'm a British horse society professional coach and love being given the opportunity to teach for the club. I look forward to getting to know more of our members at rallies and other events.

Sarah Raymond

Club Role- Rallies Manager

Hi. My name is Sarah and I rejoined B&DRC about 6 years ago after a 17 year gap due to family and work.   I really love being part of the club again, taking part in rallies, camp and teams.  I have a lovely horse Rio that we bought from Gill Lawry as a happy hack to teach my partner to ride. However Rio has turned into a bit of a star who will turn his hoof to any discipline so Dave doesn’t get a look in!  Having recently stopped work I have time to help out on the committee and have been asked to help out with the social side of the club so please let me know if you have any good ideas.
