National Riding Clubs Championships - Lincoln 6th September 2008
We took teams to the National Championships in Lincoln at the weekend and firstly we were staggered that they even ran at all!!!
The weather was the worst I have ever seen at a horsey event. I can only describe it as Glastonbury with Horses and Lorries!!!!
I was proud to be soaking wet and cold alongside:-
Ann Marshall
Sue Ravenhill Handley
Helen James
Sam Smith (Martin and puppies)
Helen Hughes (her family and babies)
Carola Silvey
Sarah Couzens
Annie Cox ( daughter and friend)
Katie and Dave Howes
Kate Scott
Zoe and Jerry Fowler
Last but not least Jenny Cole who volunteered to come and help because it would be 'fun'!!!!! (I hope that I have remembered everyone).
Sarah and Annie were 4th in the pairs dressage so well done to them.
The Style Jumpers were 12th and the Rural Riders 6th.
THANK YOU so much to everyone who went and will now spend the next few days trying to wash and clean everything that was completely covered in mud.
Jenny Cole kindly took lots of pictures. Link to them via the photo gallery page.
Air Ambulance
Every year we make a donation to the Air Ambulance on behalf of the B&D members. We have recently made a donation of £150 to the County Air Ambulance - £1 for each member of the club. Click here to see their letter of thanks.
Members will be interested to know that from 2nd June 2008, there will be an air ambulance based at Filton. This service is entirely run by donations and we as a club will hopefully be able to donate to them in the future. We have donated a further £150 of the proceeds from our ODE in June to the new air ambulance. Click on the attached for more information.

Members Hours
Don't forget you need to work up 5 hours of helping this year to maintain your membership. Please let Jayne Meehan know of any hours you have worked. Remember - no help, no membership renewal.
Your hours can be worked helping at rallies, members competitions, the ODE at West Littleton on 14th June or the Area dressage on 20th July. Friends and Family are allowed to work your hours for you!
Amersham Donation
Thank you to all those who made a donation to the Amersham Fund. Thanks also to Worcester and District RC who sent us £150 to donate as well.
We were able to sent at total of £510 to the three charities (£170 each). The charities were ILPH, Redwings and the Horse Trust. Click here to read the letters of thanks received from ILPH and Redwings. We've also had a letter from The Horse Trust. I will put this on once I have had a chance to scan it in.
